William (Bill) Taylor III Obituary

William (Bill) Collins Taylor III, age 77, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 after suffering from a long battle with lung cancer.  Born on October 29, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia, he is the son of Mary Lantz Taylor and William Collins Taylor Jr.  Bill is survived by his children William Collins Taylor IV, Nancy Lane Taylor and Mary Margaret Jenkins and her husband Russell, his grandchildren Adelaide Rosemary Jenkins and Lincoln Xavier Jenkins, and his brothers Charles Lantz Taylor and James Daniel Taylor.

Bill grew up in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas, Texas and attended Lakewood Elementary, JL Long Junior High in Dallas, Sewanee Military Academy in Tennessee and SMU in Dallas.  He was also a veteran of the US Navy.  Bill was a resident of Northlake, Texas for the last 15 years, but spent the majority of his adult life in Lewisville, Texas.

Bill was born to be a salesman and spent most of his adult life working for various homebuilders in the DFW area.  Like his father, he was known to be a master of the grill and smokers.  Many families have been blessed with his uncanny skills for smoking turkeys and amazing briskets.

At Bill’s request, there will be no memorial service or funeral. In lieu of flowers to family members, he has requested donations to be made to the Salvation Army.
