William Duncan, III Obituary

Will was born in Stuttgart, Germany while his parents were stationed there with the US Military. The family moved to Texas when Will was still very young and, after Will’s father returned from the First Gulf War, the family welcomed his brother Wade. The family moved once again and settled in Dallas, Georgia.

Will attended elementary, middle and high school there. The boys were active in the Cub Scouts and sports, and Will developed a love for the game of football early on. Will graduated from East Paulding High School.

Will moved yet again to Dubuque, Iowa with his mom and brother. From Dubuque, Will joined the US Army where he became a Nodal Network Systems Operator. Will graduated at the top of his training class and went on to assignments in Germany and Georgia. Will was a combat veteran with service during Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. Will found his niche in Information Technology after his separation from the military. He became an IT Administrator with Atlanta Bonded Warehouse in Kennesaw, Georgia and was transferred to Dallas, Texas to help build the infrastructure at the new ABW facility there.

Preceding Will in death were his Grandfathers Dave Pettera and William Thomas Duncan.
Will is survived by his parents Mary Renee Duncan (Pettera) and William Thomas Duncan, Jr., his brother Wade Tyler Duncan and sister Margaret Erin Duncan and his Grandmothers Joanne Pettera and Betty Jo Duncan. Will was in a loving relationship with Becky Harrington and her three boys, twins Carter and Avery and their older brother Isaiah.
