Warren Dee Shaver

Warren Shaver Obituary

Warren Dee Shaver joined the angels in Heaven on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 after battling West Nile neuroinvasive disease.  He was 87 years old.

SERVICE:  A small private family ceremony will take place because of the restrictions to the current pandemic.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

MEMORIALS: 

Warren was born in Arkansas City, Kansas to Adron Chris Shaver and Beda Amelia Ericson.

Warren was a member of the U.S. Army from January 7, 1953 – December 15, 1954 stationed in Weisbaden, Germany.

He married Joyce Hickman in 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Warren had two daughters, Tamara Jenkins and Annette Shaver.  He was separated from Joyce Shaver beginning in May of 1985.

Warren attended Oklahoma University and obtained his Bachelors of Science – Civil Engineering degree in 1961.  He started his career contracting for aerospace companies including LTV Aerospace Corporation in Grand Prairie, Texas, General Dynamics Aerospace in Fort Worth, Texas and Lockeed Aircraft in Marietta, Georgia.  During that time, he worked on the wing design of the 747 airplane.

From 1968 until his retirement in 2005, Warren worked as a Structural Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth, Texas.

He loved spending time with family, boating, biking, golf cart rides around the lake and swap meets.  Warren was very independent and active up until his illness.

Warren was a loving and dedicated father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He was the most kind and generous man loved by all.  He was always looking out for others.  He was a caring and generous soul and will be remembered for how much he loved his girls.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Adron and Beda; brother, Clyde Shaver; nephews Rick Shaver and Dennis Blount; niece, Sissy Williams.

SURVIVORS:

Warren is survived by his sister, Darlene Blount and husband, Elmo, his brother, Garry Shaver and wife Betty; his daughter, Tamara Jenkins and husband, James and his daughter, Annette Shaver; grandchildren, Cody Jenkins and wife, Stephanie, Taylor Sparks and husband, Mitchell and Trey Oberle; long-term girlfriend, Sonny Keith; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
