Ruthelma "Ruth" Alberta Stump

Ruthelma Alberta Stump passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 5, 2024 in Krum, Texas. Leo Jacob Stump and Mary Anna Stump brought Ruth to this world, the last born of 12 children, on Thursday, October 26, 1944, in Aleppo, Kansas.

Throughout Ruth’s life, she enjoyed running her shop, Coffee Haven, serving as a crossing guard for her local school district, and listening to the music of Elvis Presley and George Strait. Each day she strived to serve her community and better her family's lives, whom she loved with her whole heart.

Ruth’s family often spoke of her infectious smile, loving heart, care, and kindness, alongside the many laughs and stories shared among the family. Her silly fun-loving nature every day brought light and joy to every life she touched.  She dedicated much of her later life to spending time with and caring for numerous survivors, including her husband, Ken Dexter; her four children Jennifer Oakes, Jeff McCubbin, Eric Dexter, and Kim Eckels; her grandchildren Elizabeth Strasner, Zayden Mullens, Zoe Mullens, Ean Dexter, Zane Swafford, Emily Eckels, Grace Eckels and siblings, Kathleen Wilken and Alberta Kingsley.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Mary Stump; her sisters, Marceline Henning, Leona Conrady, Doris Lubbers, Eleanor Daffron, and Maryann Seibold, and brothers Edwin, Richard, Leonard, and Norbert Stump.

Ruth’s family will hold a Rosary at 10am & Mass at 10:30am in  Conway Springs Kansas at St. Josephe’s Catholic Church on September 7th, 2024.
