Ruth Carolyn Brown passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. Ruth was born in 1944 in Belzoni, MS to Omer and Johnnie Ruth Miller. After high school, Ruth joined the US Army in order to earn money for college. She served as an army medic, stateside, during the Vietnam War and was stationed in San Antonio, TX and Oklahoma. Ruth was known to her family and friends as a friendly, lively, and warm woman, who always wore a big smile, loved to laugh and never met a stranger. She was very intelligent, and always up to date on current events. She had many interests and hobbies, including cooking, baking, drawing, painting, singing, sewing, knitting, arts and crafts, reading (books, newspapers, magazines, etc.), traveling, and discussing politics. She also loved animals and had pets throughout her life, including dogs, cats, birds, and horses.
