Robert Allen Marker Sr. "Bump" was born February 19, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Benjamin and Loretta Marker.
He joined the U.S. Air Force March 9, 1955 and served his country honorably receiving numerous medals, decorations and commendations including the Airman's Medal of heroism involving risk of life.
He retired with honors from the Air Force May 31, 1975. He loved his country and was proud to wear his Air Force Retired Veteran's cap.
He loved to travel, camping, fishing, family reunions, playing cards, dominoes, Yahtzee, and watching Wheel of Fortune. He also loved to reminisce about his time in the service and always had a good joke to tell.
Bump passed away peacefully May 19, 2017 after fighting a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and other complications.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, children, Debra, Robert Jr., Michele and her husband Lee, step-son Michael Hulsey, grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Christy, Shannon and her husband Ryan, Jarrad and his wife Kayla, great grandchildren, Jordan, Jace, Jayda and Ryan Ryder.
Memorial will be held Thursday, May 25th, 3:30pm at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX. 75211
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, an organization Bump was very passionate about.
