Robert Johnson Obituary

For the last two weeks, Dad had been talking about going home to that white house behind Kim’s home.  We believed he was talking about Heaven.  At around 6am, on September 22, 2024, his change of address was granted and he was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Dad had been suffering from the effects of dementia and was being cared for at Joyful Assisted Living Home in Allen, TX by Rozina and her incredible, loving staff!  Dad was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Margaret Johnson.  He is survived by his wife Susanne and her children Natalie, Tim, and Dena and their families, and he leaves behind his brother David Johnson (JoDena) and sister Judy Douthitt (Richard).  He also leaves behind 2 sons and 3 daughters from first marriage to April Page (Johnson) - Kelly Johnson (Nan) of Lavon, TX, Kim Symes (Jeff) of Allen, TX, Krystal Diebold (Adam) of Wylie, TX, Kyle Johnson (Sarah) of Wylie, TX, and Katrina Tuma (Sam) of McKinney, TX.  There are also 15 grandchildren - Bethany Disque (Adam), Daniel Doherty, Jordan Johnson, Sydney Symes, Zachary Symes (Kylie), Olivia Wilkens (Timothy), Caleb Johnson, Ana Reeve (Benjamin), Avery Symes, Noah Tuma (Reagan), Sami Diebold, Jake Tuma, Jenna Diebold, Autumn Johnson, and Nolan Johnson - 2 great grandchildren - Wesley and Morgan Disque, and multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dad was a member of Prestonwood Baptist in Plano.  He loved history and music.  He was often found to be singing at Joyful Living with Rozina as he held his Bible.  Dad was known as a tireless worker with an incredible work ethic, having been working full-time from his mid teen years till his early 80s.  Most of that work was with Texas Instruments, but his favorite period was the 4 years he was able to teach at Heritage Christian School in Little Rock, AR where he taught History and Bible courses in 1976-1979.  He loved the Green Bay Packers and Bart Starr.  He was proud of his military service in the Army where he served in the Military Police.  In his last few years, Dad would often reminisce about his parents and how much he missed them.  How he longed for Heaven!  Dad, give Granddad and Granny a big hug from all of us!  We love you and will see you all again!

The Five Ks would like to thank Joyful Assisted Living for the wonderful love, care and dignity shown to Dad in the last two years of his life.  We are truly grateful❤️
