Michael Robinson III Obituary

Michael Clark Robinson III died October 7th, 2020 after a 2-year battle with colon cancer.
Mike was born in Austin, Texas on December 6, 1933 to Michael Clark Robinson Jr and
Elizabeth LeGrand Sims. His family relocated to Dallas when he was a teenager and Mike
graduated from Highland Park High School and SMU. He pledged to Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
After graduating college, Mike became a stockbroker for many decades. He hit a winner when
he invested in a new soap company that introduced liquid body soap(Softsoap)!
When Mike retired, he wove his love for books and reading into an online book business with an
inventory of thousands of books. He was a volunteer at Dallas Public Library during those years.
Mike started jogging, beginning in the 1970’s and was a runner even into his 80’s. Mike was
also a patriot and urged his daughter, Lauren, to join the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mike had an extreme love for dogs(and one cat named Kitty). He had the many dogs he outlived
over the years, cremated, and requested that his own ashes be spread in the Hill Country, along
with the ashes of his late, beloved canine friends.
Mike was a wonderful father and grandfather and no one ever questioned that he loved all his
children and grandchildren-it was very obvious. He always asked about what each family
member was doing and sent everyone books that paralleled their interests.
Survivors: 5 children- Michael Clark Robinson IV, Lauren Robinson Gardiner, Michael Sean
Robinson(Pamela), Kathryn Omsteed and Michael Scott Robinson.
9 grandchildren- Connor Gardiner, Kelly Eden Gardiner, Madison Elizabeth Gardiner, Jimmy
Strimpel, Gabby Strimpel, Samantha Prader(Devon), Katy Robinson, Heather Robinson and
Max Robinson.
