Michael Bolding Jr., fearfully and wonderfully made, created by God in his mother’s womb, first entered this world as a SON already beloved by his parents, Michael Bolding Sr., and Carolyn Marie Bolding. He was so big that the doctor told Mike’s mom, “You just had a baby moose!”
Although he was a big baby, Mike was still a little BROTHER to his older sister, Lolita. And what an excellent brother he was. Over time, more siblings followed: Paul, Candra, Esther, Joseph, David, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Marcus, and, lastly, Jonathan.
In 1987, he became a proud UNITED STATES MARINE. He served our country well in the Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm. While in the service, he attended the Korean Olympics. Mike’s active duty ended in 1991 and he was honored with the following: a Rifle Marksman Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal.
He became a LETTER CARRIER and served 25 years with the United States Postal Service. He loved his routes and the people on them. He was truly a people person and made great friends with his customers. He took care of them and they took care of him. It was on one of those routes where God spoke to Mike’s heart and mind so loudly and clearly that he had to pull his mail truck over. At that moment, at age 33, Mike gave his life to Christ, becoming a CHRISTIAN. At church he became a strong PRAYER WARRIOR during Wednesday night prayer meetings and a smiling USHER during Sunday services. He was a CHRISTIAN BROTHER and MENTOR to other men at church, gym, and work.
He proposed to his love, Rebekah, in October 2004 and the two married that December. He was a loving HUSBAND for sixteen years. Mike gave Rebekah the gift of being a wife and mother, her greatest dream.
After years of infertility struggles and prayer, he excitedly became a FATHER to son Stephan Deon Bolding in May 2007. And 18 short months later, he welcomed twins Michael Bolding III and Mikah Charles Bolding to the world. In March 2013, a daughter, Maria Victoria Bolding, joined the family.
In 2016, Mike decided to make a bold move to Texas to pursue a long-held dream of becoming a FEDERAL POLICE OFFICER with the United States Army Military Police.
During his life, Mike was a serious HEALTH NUT, a morning smoothie drinker, a gym goer, and a guy who loved to ride his bike. While in Texas, he also became an animated soccer and basketball COACH for his children. Even when he wasn't officially coaching, he was running up and down the field sideline coaching and encouraging players.
In May 2021, Mike made his last and final transition into the arms of his loving Savior Jesus Christ as a BELOVED CHILD OF GOD.
