Marie ('Rie) Mildred (Sheminant) Bentley

Marie Mildred (‘Rie) (Scheminant) Bentley, age 88, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2022 from sepsis.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am October 1, 2022 at the Bristol Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gateway Funerals and Cremation.

Marie was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 18, 1934.

Marie was married to Oscar Howard Bentley (Buddy) on September 2, 1960. Marie and Buddy were married 56 years until he passed in 2016.

Marie worked for Republic National Life Insurance in the 1960s until she became a mom. She was then a stay-at-home mom, and also ran an in-home daycare. Marie enjoyed gardening, decorating for every holiday, Elvis, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by a daughter, Tina Marie Daniels, and (husband Timothy), a son, Jeffrey Howard Bentley, and wife, Lynda. Grandchildren: Teisha Ray (husband,Sean), Timothy (Tad) Daniels (wife, Elizabeth), Teal Arnold, (husband, Michael), Zach Bentley, Tate Daniels (wife, Sydni), and Bristol Bentley. Great grandchildren: Zayden, Ellington, Huxton, Anderson, Aleia, and Zeke.

Pallbearers: Tad Daniels, Zach Bentley, Tate Daniels, Bristol Bentley, Sean Ray, & Michael Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Bristol Cemetery Association 557 Union Hill Road, Ennis, Texas 75119.

The family would like to thank Evergreen Care Group Home and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their care during Marie’s illness; Deanna and her team were exceptional.
