Margaret Eileen York “ Meg”, 62, of Dallas, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020. She was born July 6, 1957 in Mobile, Alabama. Meg graduated from Skyline High School and worked for Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas as the Missions Volunteer Coordinator for over 25 years.
Meg was truly unforgettable! She had a true “servant’s heart” and also had the uncanny ability of filling every room to the brim with laughter! Her humor poured out of a deep desire to genuinely improve the lives of those around her and she succeeded in that endeavor. Meg was a true lover of people, especially the young and marginalized. Meg would spend most of her vacation time traveling to orphanages around the world to lend a helping hand and a smile. Her colorful clown-suit, animal sounds and impressions, and outlandish mannerisms are famous on 4 continents! Meg carried an unmatched joy with her when she was serving others. What a gift she was to those who were lucky enough to know her! To say that her presence will be missed is a gross understatement!
Meg is preceded by her mother, Patricia Karl York. Meg is survived by her sister, Trisha York; her brother John York and his wife Beverly, four nieces and their husbands Amy & Scott Pyne, Karlie & Tyler Choate, Molly & Kevin Smith and Katie & Ben Jones; six great nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles Madeline & Bill Speer and Erhard & Sandy Karl.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Park Cities Baptist Church in the Ellis Chapel on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
