Linda Lyons Obituary

Linda Mae Lyons, 62, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on February 6, 2025, after complications arising from aortic stenosis and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Linda was a loving mother to her three sons and life-long animal lover, having a particular passion for horses, dogs and cats. She loved spending time with her family, playing board games and talking for long hours with her sons. Having grown up near the coast of South Carolina, she loved going to the beach and being near the ocean. She was also a devout Christian whose relationship with Christ grew stronger in her later years.

Linda was also a curious person who was always looking to make sense of the world around her. She dabbled in many hobbies, such as writing, bird watching and reading, especially books related to history and philosophy. She appreciated the simple joys of life, such as grounding her toes in the grass, listening to rainstorms and taking care of her pets.

She is survived by her three sons: Justin Runyon and wife Karoline, Matthew Runyon and fiancee Kiersten, and Christian Barnes and wife Callie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edith and John Lyons, and her sister, Dawn Cornatzer.

Memorial services will be held at The Healing Place in Shreveport, LA, located at 8957 Kingston Dr., from 11am to 12pm on Friday, February 28.

In lieu of flowers, it would be very much appreciated if donations were made to help for the care of a couple of Linda's cats which are being sheltered, prior to being rehomed, by Port City Cat Rescue https://portcitycatrescue.org/donate/
