Kenneth Henneberger Obituary

Kenneth Henneberger passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family.


Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Sally Smart-Henneberger; his children, Michael Henneberger (Fanchon), Linda Larson (Roger), Sheri Johnson (Jim), and step-daughter Christina Tull.


He was a proud grandfather to Robert Larson and Kimberly Miller (Brent) and step-grandfather to Bryce Knott (Jaycie), Leahe Murphy (Ryan), Kelly Johnson (Delsa), Nikkee Clees (Ty), SGT Kenneth Tull (Tara), Brianna Holden (Kyle), Kalli Tull, Michael Dedmon (Laura) and Meaghan Mangum (Brock). He was blessed with 14 step-great-grandchildren who have brought him much joy.


Kenneth is also survived by his five siblings, Kay Crawford, Armin Henneberger, Jr., Elaine Ham (Sherry), Arlene McCrehan (Jeff), and Dwight Henneberger (Cynthia), brother-in-law, Jim Gang, Sr. (Ann) and beloved cousin Jim Bob Holmes as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-son-in-law Kenneth Tull, and his step-son Joseph Smart.


Born in Lubbock, Texas, Kenneth graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, TX in 1957. He went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he proudly served in the Corps of Cadets and played trumpet in the Fighting Texas Aggie Band. He graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Construction.


Kenneth’s professional career began with Chaney & Hope in Dallas, Texas then with his father at Henneberger Construction Company. In the early 1970’s, he dedicated much of his professional life to his Plano-based home inspection company, Sher-Lin Inc., which he operated faithfully until his retirement in 2006.


Outside of his career, Kenneth and Sally enjoyed square dancing with Swinging Stars, and shared a love for their community at Presbyterian Village North socializing, participating in community activities and volunteering at Vespers in the chapel on Sundays. For many years he enjoyed volunteering with Destination Imagination local and state competitions, as well as various other academic competitions with his wife Sally. Kenneth also enjoyed Aggie Football Games, Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys! His kindness, integrity and devotion to his family and community will be remembered by all who knew him.


A Celebration of Life will be held in The Monie Chapel at Presbyterian Village North on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 3 p.m. and a private inurnment at Restland Cemetery at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Presbyterian Village North Foundation, Texas A&M University Former Students Association and the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Dallas.
