Kantilal Gajiwala, beloved father and successful businessman, unexpectedly couldn't breathe and was rushed to the ER Sunday June 9th at 4:00 AM. He was later diagnosed with pneumothorax and a tear in his esophagus and was in critical condition on a ventilator. Kantilal passed away in the operating room before his procedure, while his daughter Priti waited in the waiting room.
In the past, Ken had survived a leg fracture and stroke and remarkably returned back to perfect health. In the past few years he started suffering from mild dementia, which he was fully aware of. Ken resided in Dallas, TX since 2013 in various nursing homes, where I took care of him (showers, clothing, food, outings, and provided him sitters which would stimulate his intellect from further dementia deterioration). Priti helped our father with medical needs while the nursing homes provided his daily basic needs.
Kantilal is survived by wife, Madan Gajiwala, four children, Ragini (husband Harish), Priyes, Hema, and Priti, and niece Alyssa.
Ken's dream was to be a successful businessman, travel the world, and marry the most beautiful woman in the world, and so he did. Ken interviewed hundreds of women until he found my mother with the hope of brilliant children.
Ken lived a very fulfilling life: hardworking, very determined, goal oriented, striking-striving, extremely intelligent, very strong will power, highly motivated/extreme confidence, and very ambitious. Ken made the impossible, possible. He was also extremely generous and financially supported society and multiple communities. He always helped those in need. To Ken, family welfare was first priority. Ken had a unique loving relationship with all of his children and was a great philosopher.
Ken started out as a journalist in Surat, India. He migrated to London in 1964 and lived there for eleven years. He started out as a bus conductor and later became a real estate investor and continued this business all over the United States.
Ken will be missed very much by his loving family. He was a very happy, healthy, full of energetic, spontaneous, and blissful father who loved Nepal.
