Judith "Judy" Harrell Obituary

Judy left this world on January 17, 2021. She was born August 9, 1943, to Frank and Alice Haynes in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Keith Harrell, in 2017.  She is survived by her son David (Boise) and wife Jan, grandsons Cameron and Carston, her daughter Shannon Klingele and husband Michael, and grandsons Henry and Benjamin.

Judy grew up in Twin Falls, where she attended Twin Falls High school before moving to Oklahoma with her family in 1978. In 1983 she moved with her family to Arkansas, attended the University of Arkansas, and graduated with a teaching degree in 1986. She loved her cats and traveled to many cat shows.  She attended Grace United Methodist Church, Rogers AR, where she was a member and enjoyed singing with the choir.

Judy moved to Wylie, TX, in 2017, where she lived with her daughter Shannon and her family. Judy attended the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas, TX, where she participated in faith-based classes, volunteered at the Clothes Horse, and made many new friends. She also spent much of her time at the Wylie Senior Center, where she made even more friends and enjoyed the many activities and classes they offered. Judy even traveled to Ireland with the Senior Center, fulfilling one of her greatest desires.

She was creative and enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, card making, and many other crafts. Some of Judy's favorite family activities included going to the Plano Balloon Festival, visiting the Dallas Zoo, and watching TV shows at home with her family. She was purposeful to speak with David daily, enjoyed frequent zoom calls to keep up with Cameron and Carston, and traveled to Idaho to spend time with David and his family as often as possible.

Local services honoring Judy will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas, TX, when it is safe for family and friends to gather.  Additional services will be held in Twin Falls, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Keith.
