John B. Nix

Our dad, John Buel Nix, of Lewisville, Tx. Passed away on Sept.11th, 2016 at the age of 86. He was the youngest of 12 children born to Jessie & Hattie Nix on July 26th, 1930 in New Boston, Tx. He served in the United States Air Force and worked at U.S. Borax in Wilmington, Ca. where he retired. Dad was a character. You never knew what he was going to say next, but it was usually something quirky & funny. He loved to make people laugh! He would strike up a conversation with anyone & everyone, no one was a stranger to him. He liked to dance, especially to his favorites, Hank Williams & Patsy Cline. He loved to travel and was always ready to hop on a plane or get in his car to go & explore new places or to visit with family & friends. He is truly going to be missed!
He is survived by his four children, Ron(Jeanie) Nix, of Destin, Fl., Lynn(Steve)Furse of Canton, Ga., Denise(Frank) Stephens of Virginia Beach, Va. and Darryl Nix of Dallas, Tx. Five grandchildren, Nicole Winegeart , Herb(Jammi) Dierking, Brittany(Scott) Furse-Taube, Wynter Furse, and Daniel Stephens. Two great grandchildren, Terran Winegeart & Teagan Dierking. Four sister-in-laws and numerous nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Tx. on the 23rd of Sept. at 11 a.m.
