John Leblanc Obituary

On Sunday, March 5th 2017, John C. LeBlanc left this earth to be with God. John C. LeBlanc was born on April 11th, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas, the youngest of three children to the late Patricia Lutenbacher LeBlanc and Loyd Joseph LeBlanc.
He was baptized May 7th 1939 at St. Mary's Church in San Antonio. He attended Central Catholic High School and later graduated from St. Mary's University, also in San Antonio. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a member of the Air National Guard, and later a pilot for Delta Airlines. He was a member of the San Antonio Conservation Society, Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society, and National Train Collectors Association. In addition to enjoying time with his family, he lived most of his adult life in Dallas as an active community member, ballroom dancer, connoisseur of history, travel, and Mexican food, and corny joke teller. He fought Parkinson's for over 30 years. It took his pilot's license, his ability to drive, and many of the things he loved. It never took his sense of humor, however, and we are humbled by how he approached his situation with grace and humor. He passed away peacefully and is no longer bound by the frail body that failed him.
He is survived and cherished by his family, including brothers Charles Gerald LeBlanc and his wife Carol, and Loyd Joseph LeBlanc Jr., his children; daughter Patricia LeBlanc Schell, son John LeBlanc II and his wife Dannelle; four grandchildren; Aric Schell, Ian LeBlanc, Andrew Schell, and Emma LeBlanc; nieces Sharon Long and her husband Joe, Cyndy Rader and her husband Steve, and great-grandchildren, Jack and Chuck Long. The family would also like to give special thanks to "Monica" Karuga for her long-standing service to John Sr., and to the many other special people who helped John Sr. during the end stages of Parkinson's.

He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Lutenbacher LeBlanc and father Loyd Joseph LeBlanc, as well as son-in-law Eric Schell.

He is greatly missed, and yet we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now with God (and likely enjoying a large plate of chicken enchiladas verdes*).
