Frank Charles "Tex" Telford

Frank Charles ‘Tex’ Telford was born in Collinsville, Texas on November 23, 1935, to Charles and Frances Telford.  He passed away on September 12, 2023.

Frank graduated from Collinsville High School and attended Lon Morris College. He then enlisted in the US Army, served 3 tours in Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service. After retirement from the Army, he worked many years at the US Federal Courthouse in Dallas as a court security officer. 

Frank was an avid reader, lover of all kinds of music, a Dallas Cowboy fan and a proud Texan. He is known for his wit, boisterous personality and loyal friendship. Through AA he achieved over 25 years of sobriety and assisted and encouraged many others on their journey. He loved spending time with friends and family.  

Frank is survived by his sons, Derryl and Michelle Telford of Flower Mound, Texas, Theron ‘Texx’ and Joey Telford of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Victoria and Travis Watters, Ila Telford, Sawyer Telford, Brandon Jacobus, Samantha and Ryan Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Tanner and Bailey; a brother, Larry and Janie Telford of Austin, Texas and other family and friends.  Frank was married to Wanda Telford for 17 years and they remained friends over the years.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary ‘Tiny’ Telford. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Graveside service will be held November 7, 2023 at 11:00, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
