Dean Pyle Obituary

Dean Peter Pyle, age 54, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on November 3rd, 2022. Dean had spent over 60 days in the hospital after a kidney transplant that was later removed due to a massive infection and arterial bleed. After coming home in August, he fought so hard to get better and regain his strength. A secondary issue, Calciphylaxis, began and was diagnosed before his death. Calciphylaxis took its toll on Dean and he ended up back in the hospital, where he fought to make it for 7 days. During this time, he experienced many ups and downs, including having a pace-maker put in, but in the end his heart gave way and he hurts no more. A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on November 12th, 2022 at Community Life Church in Forney, Texas. Mike Pirkle and Mark Mangrum will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on November 11th, 2022, at Community Life Church in Forney, Texas. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gateway Funerals and Cremation.

Dean was born in Dallas, Texas on March 24th, 1968. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School and continued his education at Baylor University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio, TV, and Film.

Dean was married to Ami on August 7th, 1993 at Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas, the place where they met. They were married over 29 years.

Dean was a worship leader, shepherd, encourager, creative producer and felt called to the church, to lead the body of Christ. He served many churches during his 30 year span of ministry. He began his calling at Baylor University, where he helped lead worship at Choice Bible Study, a ministry that would later blossom into a well-known conference called Passion. He enjoyed leading worship at middle school and high school camps for many summers and Super Summer events in Texas and Missouri, as well as singing and leading at different churches around the area. He moved home to the Dallas area after college where he worked on staff and lead worship at Casa View Baptist Church, Lake Pointe Church, and Glenview Baptist Church, all located in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Dean and Ami heard and felt the calling to say “Yes” to take a leap of faith and move to St. Louis, Missouri, 6 months pregnant with their first child, along with 2 other pastors to start a church in an area of great need, O’fallon, Missouri. Summit Community Church began the Sunday after their baby girl, Demi, was born, forever marking the age of the church with her birth. During the 12 years that they served, Dean shared teaching responsibilities alongside his role as worship leader, while they raised their daughter and two sons, Enoch and Caleb. His last calling to a church took his family to Charlotte, North Carolina where he stepped in as the worship leader at Harvest Community Church. Before leaving Charlotte, Dean began experiencing health issues with his heart and ultimately underwent a quintuple bi-pass surgery in 2014. During his recovery, Dean became an Uber driver to help take care of his family; it was during this time where he found one of his greatest callings - talking, counseling, and ministering to anyone who entered his SUV. Dean fulfilled his calling and purpose to the end - shepherding and pastoring worship leaders, men, student groups, and adult groups. He ministered everywhere he went, including the grocery store, the dialysis center, and the hospital! He lived out his life as an example of the Great Commission until the very end.

Dean is survived by his wife, Ami, daughter Demi Alexandra Pyle and fiance Davis Dodds, son Enoch Jaren Pyle, and son Caleb Evan Pyle. His Sister Dr. Rhea Antonio and partner Rose Vaciliou, his nephew George James Antonio and Mary Bailey White and great nephew Haralambos (Harry) James White Antonio, his nephew Dean Louis Antonio and Aliza Small, his Brother - Rev. George Pyle, his niece Evyenia Pyle and his nephew Thanasi Pyle.

Dean is preceded in death by his Yiayia Despina (Tessie) Voulgarides, mother Penelope (Penny) Pyle, father John Pyle, Yiayia Panorhea (Rita) Pyle, Papou George John Pyle, brother in law Jim Antonio and nephew Stefan Adrian Antonio.
