David Webster Obituary

David William Webster, aged 76, passed away on October 18, 2024, in Aubrey, TX. Born on December 19, 1947, David dedicated his life to serving his country and his community, embodying the virtues of dedication, love, and loyalty.

David graduated from Fenton High School in Fenton, MI, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Navy in 1966. Over his 24-year career, he served with distinction and retired as an Aviation Electrician Senior Chief Petty Officer (AECS). Davey, (as he was known by his Navy buddies) made many wonderful memories and lifetime friends during his Naval career.  His duty stations were diverse and included VS-27, VR-52 NAF Detroit, VR-51 Det NAS Whidbey Island, VR-51 Glenview, Chief of Naval Reserve in New Orleans, and VR-61 NAS Whidbey Island. During his tour at NAF Detroit, he also participated in UNITAS XVI. Over his 24-years of service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 4 Good Conduct Medals, 2 Navy "E" Awards, Navy Marksman Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal. 

After retiring from military service, David continued to utilize his skills as Maintenance Supervisor, Housing Authority in Oak Harbor, WA, for 15 years until his second retirement.

David was a man of faith, actively participating in Sonrise Baptist Church in Englewood, FL, His personal hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and traveling across the country in his motorhome, which brought him immense joy and fulfillment as well as his family.

David is survived by his loving spouse, Linda Webster (Cary); children Lynette Lillie, Clifford Webster (Connie), Jeffrey Nisbet, Kelly Pemberton (Craig), Christine Webster; grandchildren Alex, Kyle, Nathan, Emma, Kayce, Chase, Jenna, Gavin, Bradley D, Brittany, Cassandra, Bradley J; and 9 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings Judy, Kim, Ellen, Pat, Jim, and Renee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Webster and Etta Ellen Webster (Bentley), and his siblings, Thomas, Betty, and Shirley.

A memorial service with military honors will be held in January 2025 at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory can be made to cancer research, honoring his courageous spirit and helping advance a cause important to him.  His memory will continue to inspire those who know him.
