David Wayne Vinson of Shady Shores, TX passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, peacefully among family. He was 63 years old. Born August 14, 1960, in Denton, TX, he was the youngest son of his late father and mother, Leslie (Mokie) and Dolores Vinson.
David greatly enjoyed the outdoors and found every opportunity to be out of the house. He enjoyed riding his bike around town, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and was often found mowing and taking care of yard work for others. Aside from being outdoors, he also enjoyed pushing buttons (local casinos) with his little sis.
David is survived by 2 of his children, David Wayne Vinson, Jr. and Alisha Walker, as well as his brother, Leslie “L.D.” Vinson, Jr. and wife Bonnie and sisters Sherry Vinson Starr and April Vinson.
He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Destiny Walsh, Michael Walsh, Areanna Walsh, Justin Walker, Kamdyn Walker, Chloe Walker, Bella Grace Vinson-Cadena, and David Wayne Vinson III. He also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren: Berkley and Legend and nieces and great nephews.
David is preceded in death by both parents and his daughter, Christie Vinson.
David struggled with liver cancer for many years, shocking doctors and nurses with his strong will to survive, but in the end, Jesus has called him home. He will always be remembered for his contagious laughter and often inappropriate, but silly sense of humor. He loved people and knew no stranger. Some of his very best days were often spent laughing with his siblings, visiting with his children, or spending peaceful time out on the lake.
