David W. Smith, passed peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2021 at the age of 85.
We will miss your hearty handshakes, engulfing hugs, huge smile and "hype man" encouragement! We will miss your ability to make others feel like the most important person to walk into the room, and your ability to use a practical joke way past the expiration date! Thank you for giving us a beautiful legacy to carry on in honor of your example, one of integrity, hard work, perseverance and a positive attitude.
David is survived by his greatest love, Norma Duke; 5 children, Kelli (Dave) Majiros, of Pocono Lake, PA; Mark (Linda) Smith of Plano, TX; Suzanne (Ted) Henbest of Mechanicsville, PA; Carole (Dan) Berg of Elmira, NY, and Kathleen Couser of Elkridge, MD; 10 grandchildren--Wesley, Mason, Jacob, Heather, Theodore, Megan, Daniel, Rachel, Bishop, and Cray as well as 2 great grandchildren (Lily and Jackson). David is also survived by his sister Adele (Mark) Cerny of Canyon City, OR, 2 nieces (Maricass and AnneTerese) and 2 great nieces (Ellory and Jolie).
David was born in Orange, NJ. He was a graduate of Collingswood High School and Drexel University. David worked at Corning Incorporated until 1977. He then established his own successful consulting business, Action Management Associates, Inc. and relocated to Dallas, TX where his business remains to this day.
David moved to Hot Springs Village, AR as he entered his retirement years where he remained a long time resident. David loved Hot Springs Village and his home on Lake Balboa more than anywhere he has ever lived.
David was an avid golfer and tennis player and remained very competitive well into his 70s. David also loved to watch football and his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
David is fondly remembered for his quick wit, his confident presence and his loving and kind demonstration toward those he held dear.
