Budd Kneisel Obituary
Budd Edward Kneisel, born August 12, 1938, was sent home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2019 at Methodist Charlton Medical Center of Dallas.
Born to parents humbly known as Emo and Doc, Budd accomplished much during his lifetime. In his early years, Budd attended St. Edwards Academy, Jesuit College Preparatory School, and then studied at the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduating, Budd made his premier in television and radio broadcasting where he joined WBAP Radio and Channel 5 as a news reporter; many may recognize him from his popular morning show "The Children's Hour." During his time at Channel 5, Budd was tasked with the responsibility of escorting the celebrities - or what he referred to as "NBC Properties" - to and from the news facilities in the DFW area for promotional work. Oftentimes, however, Budd was told that he was the one that resembled the celebrity.
Through all his experiences, both with his education and employment, Budd remained humble. Family recalls that during various holidays Budd would always state that he "just wanted your presence - not your presents."
Budd joins in Heaven both parents, Ella Anna Kannmacher-Kneisel and Paul Richard Kneisel, and his beloved sisters - Tootie, Helen, Thersa, Mary and Sarah.
Budd is survived by his son, Jim Kneisel and family; his son, Steve Kneisel and family; his daughter, Diana Davis and family; his son, Joey Kneisel and family; and his son, Jay Kneisel and family.
