Bruce Roy Furnival

Bruce passed away in his home in Hickory Creek, Texas, on the evening of August 19th, 2024.

He was born in Syracuse, New York, on November 25, 1952, to Robert Furnival and Elnor Sisson (Furnival). He is survived by two daughters, Joan Marie Furnival of Hickory Creek, Texas and Karen Ruth Furnival of Springdale, Arkansas, and his sister Nancy Pratt, Pfafftown,NC.

Bruce was a man of many interests; Hunting, fishing, the great outdoors, but primarily, motorcycles. He was a collector, long distance rider, and always searching for a new toy to add to the collection. Not to mention, Costco’s biggest fan. He was a selfless human, a colleague to anyone he met, always making friends everywhere he would go.

He was most proud of being the father of his two daughters. He held great honor in being a parent to them, always making sure his girls knew how to camp, fish, and even motocross (when it held their interest). He would say often that the greatest joy of his life was being their father. Joan and Karen will dearly miss him and the continuous life lessons he imparted to them.

While Bruce was more spiritual than religious, his favorite sentiment was that he was “Lutheran by location,” he enjoyed being a part of the community at First United Methodist in Lewisville, Texas, and was a man of God until the end.

Celebration of life will be held at Gateway Funerals & Cremation 17390 Preston Road suite 310 Dallas, TX, 75252 on Monday September 9th at 1pm. A small gathering will be held at Hillside Grill, 3140 FM 407, Highland Village, TX after. Please dress in Bruce’s favorites, whether it be jeans and a polyester shirt, motorcycle attire, or hunting gear, he would want everyone to come as they are.
