Billy Ray Bowen

Billy Ray Bowen, age 84, of Denton, Texas, went to go be with the father and receive his reward on December 24th, 2022 after declining in health following a fall on November 14th.

Billy Ray was born June 1st, 1938 in Rudy, Arkansas to William Bowen and Estella Gregory. Billy Ray was married to Kathleen Bowen (nee Crawford) for 63 years and had five children. He was a veteran of the army, a former assistant pastor, and worked many other jobs before retiring in 2003.

Billy was very involved with his church (Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God) and his family.

He has proceeded in death by his parents and brother Johnny. He has survived by his wife, Kathleen, his siblings: Wanda Prince of Anchorage, Alaska, Frida Bowen of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Francis Bowen of Van Buren, Arkansas, his children John (Connie) Bowen, Kathy Bowen DeFoore, Sandra Bowen Carter, Peggy (Brian) Gosnell, and Oleta Bowen Sally. They also had 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on January 14th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, 1101 Audra Lane, Denton, Texas 76209.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that gifts be made to the national breast Cancer foundation.
