Alice Elizabeth (Petty) Crossland, 80, of Allen, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2024.
Alice was born in Pleasantville, New Jersey on March 14, 1943. She graduated from Pleasantville High School and continued on to receive her bachelor's degree in political science from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Alice was a lifelong learner and attended graduate classes at the University of Delaware and Rutgers University.
Alice worked as a medical social worker for the State of New Jersey before retiring in 1999. One of her greatest joys was helping people. She was active in Girl Scouts when her children were young and volunteered her time with other organizations. Her favorite hobby was genealogy.
As a military wife, Alice had the opportunity to live in multiple states and overseas but she always considered New Jersey her home. After living in Ventnor, New Jersey for forty years, she moved to Texas in 2013 and enjoyed being a grandmother.
Alice is survived by her daughter Bonnie Crossland, her daughter Elizabeth Turner and her husband David, granddaughters Bryanna and Maegan Turner, niece Shannon Merwin and her husband Mark, and other family and friends.
