Wayne was born in Minot, ND and grew up in North and South Dakota. Wayne attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa and South Dakota State University. He spent nearly 4 years in the Peace Corp in the Philippines. While in the Philippines he helped the fish farmers realize the potential of their farms, before moving to Guam where he lived from 1979 to 2016. While on Guam he worked as a biologist with the Department of Agriculture, division of fisheries. While living there he met his wife Ruth they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen (Spong) Kruckenberg
Survived by his wife Ruth, Step-children and Step grandchildren: Charles (Christian, Danika, Justin, Taylor, Meeko), Mary (Stefan, Aemilia, Nicolas), Nathan (preceded in death), Melinda (Cyleen). Siblings Maureen and Jay Vetter, Linda and Gary Bowling, Jon and Peggy Kruckenberg. Nieces and nephews, Jeremy and Molly Vetter, Matt Parker, David, Melissa, Aja and Jesy Bowling, Krista, Quentin and Mercedes Kruckenberg
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Friday March 23rd at 3pm at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 117 W. Hercules Lane Denton Texas.
