Tracey Shaffer Obituary
Mrs. Tracey Renee Shaffer, 45, of Celina, Texas, passed away on November 29th, 2016, due to a three year battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, December 5th, 2016 at Gateway Funerals and Cremation 17390 Preston Rd. Suite 310 Dallas, TX 75252. Chaplin Tim Kerrick of Faith Presbyterian will be officiating.
Tracey professed her faith in Jesus Christ and attended church at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, TX.
Tracey was born in Houston, TX on September 1st, 1971. She graduated from Waxahachie High School Indians class of 1989. Tracey continued her education at PCI and graduated as a trained medical assistant. Several years later she got into Raytheon's Aircraft Electrical Training Program which lasted two years and became a Avionics Technician..
Tracey married her beloved husband Gregory Allen Shaffer on November 8th, 2013; they were married for three years.
Tracey worked as an Avionics Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace for over three years. Tracey took pride in everything she worked on or built. She also previously worked at Cook Children Pediatric Hospital as a medical assistant. She was also employed at various aviation companies; she worked on helicopters, corporate jets, and wide-body aircraft. She enjoyed knitting, reading books, coloring books, gardening and working on cars and motorcycles with her husband Greg.
Tracey is survived by her beloved husband Gregory Shaffer, her grandchild Malak Bryant, her brothers James and Wesley Batte, her sons Jon Batte and Robert Bryant, her daughter Caley Bryant and many other family and friends.
Tracey is preceded in death by her parents Edward Glenn Batte, Sr. and Betty Ann Threkeld, also her brother Edward Glen Batte, Jr.
Tracey touched many lives during her lifetime here on earth. She would help others as much as she could even when she had her own struggles to deal with. She will be never forgotten and deeply missed by her family and friends.
The family asks In lieu of flowers that donations may be given to Faith Presbyterian Hospice (a non-profit organization) at 4350 Sigma Rd. Suite 400 Dallas, TX 75244. The family of Tracey wishes to thank the hospital staff at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX who was there for her over the years and also Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their kindness during her final days.
