Nelson Ward Obituary
Nelson Dean Ward, 23 years old, of Dallas, TX, passed away on July 21st, 2017.
The funeral service will be held at 1pm on July 27th, 2017 at Gateway Funerals and Cremation . Michael "Cadillac" Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, July 26th at Gateway. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gateway Funerals & Cremation.
Nelson was born in Corsicana, TX on December 17th, 1993. He attended Vines High School in Plano, TX and continued on to receive a GED.
Nelson had a significant impact on the people he came in contact with. He exuded a positive energy that was contagious. His happy-go-lucky disposition made him the kind of person that you could not help but to like. He loved to make people laugh, especially using the ‘shock factor'. He was very passionate about helping others who struggled with addiction...encouraging them, praying for them and making himself available if they needed to talk or were struggling. His goal was to go back to school and become a Certified Professional Counselor, specializing in addiction counseling.
Nelson worked as a Cashier/Food Prep for Smoothie Factory. He enjoyed skateboarding, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. He was also actively involved in Christian-based recovery programs, as well as NA and AA.
Nelson is survived by his mother Kimberly Lowe of Addison, TX, stepfather Robert Lowe of Addison, sisters Reagen and Brooklyn Ward of Corsicana, TX, father Sammie Ward of Corsicana, TX, girlfriend Stephanie Whaley of Dallas, TX, grandma Avelina Garcia of Wortham, TX, aunt Hollie Kananda of Wortham, TX, aunt Shelley McDaniel of Dawson, TX and numerous cousins, family and friends.
Nelson is preceded in death by his granny Louise Worley, aunt Melba Selman, and cousin Pamela Davenport.
