Jimmy Ray Machicek of Denton, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Monday, May 8, 2017, at the age of 77.
Jimmy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 10, 1940. He graduated from Gonzales High School, and then went on to serve in the United States Army from June of 1959 to May of 1962. He was stationed in Korea, was a second-class gunner, sharpshooter, and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.
He worked as a salesman for J.B. White Company for over 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and loved to fry fish and grill a steak for anyone any time.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters Liz Matthews and her husband Shane, and Monica Muns and her husband David; grandchildren Hayden Muns, Jordan Grimaldo, Karan Muns and Shelby Hogan; four sisters, seven brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother and father, Frank and Willie Mae Machicek; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Mills; and sister, Dianne Fesperman.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Monday, May 15, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetary, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75222. Kent Sparks of Cross Timbers Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gateway Funerals and Cremation.
