Irene Burleson

Elizabeth Irene Burleson passed from this life on Friday, march 24, 2017. She was born on February 4, 1923 in Fulbright, Texas to Elsie and Jeff Bagley.

She was valedictorian of her high school class and attended Paris Junior College and The University of North Texas, where she did graduate work. After graduation from UNT, she taught Typing, Shorthand, and English at Paris High School.

She came to Dallas to work at a law firm during the summer months and did not return to live in Paris. She married James M. Burleson in November of 1964 and left the law firm to care for their son Jeff in 1967.

She was a wonderful mother, wife, teacher, tutor, mentor, volunteer, humble servant and faithful friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Preston Road Church of Christ, New Friends, New Life, Dallas Arboretum or the SPCA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Preston Road Church of Christ. There will be a viewing at 11am. The service will begin 12pm and a family reception will follow. The procession from the church to Restland Memorial Park, Sunset Garden will begin at 2pm.
