Howard Hennesy Obituary

Howard Thomas Hennesy Jr. age 86, passed away peacefully at the Denton Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on January 5, 2018. With his salvation secure, he is joining many other family and friends.

He was born in Fairplay, Maryland on September 26, 1931. He entered the US Army in 1948 and served for almost 4 years. He was stationed in Germany for most of that time during the "Cold War."
He often said, "We sat in our tanks watching the Russian soldiers in their tanks."

After his honorable discharge he married Nancy Jean Spence on December 9, 1955 in Fairplay, Maryland. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed coaching youth sports teams and became an avid fan of the Dallas Mavericks, Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He always had time to spend with and help his family and friends. He also attended Faith Lutheran Church, Flower Mound, TX with his wife.

He became a master mechanic and worked in the aviation and oil industries. His career took him from Maryland to California, New Hampshire and Delaware. No one can remember any repair technician ever coming to his home. He fixed and installed everything.

In May of 2002, he and his wife moved from Delaware to Flower Mound, Texas to be close to family and his 2 granddaughters.

He leaves behind his wife of over 62 years, Nancy (Spence) Hennesy; his son Tommy Hennesy and wife Denise Hennesy; granddaughters Molly and Erin Hennesy. He was preceded in death by his sister Sylvia Hammond. His remains will be kept at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Veterans Cemetery.
