Edward Flanagan Obituary
Edward J. Flanagan of Frisco, TX, age 94, passed away after a short illness on December 11, 2016. Edward was born on September 28, 1922 in Johnstown, PA. Edward was a veteran of WW II and continued his military career in the Air Force for 22 years. He met the love of his life, Muriel Parker, in London and was married for 46 years. Their marriage produced four children who were proudly raised as "Air Force Brats." Following his retirement from the Air Force, Edward moved his family to Texas where he later retired from his second career with Continental Telephone Company (Verizon SW).
Edward was an avid reader and collector of items with historical interest. Dad took tender loving care of Muriel until her death in 1993, as well as his son Howard during his final illness. Dad always did the best he could and for that we are eternally grateful. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Muriel Flanagan and his son Howard Flanagan. He is survived by his children Kathy Shockey, Michael Flanagan, and Denise Park, along with seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two beloved cats.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 6, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 4901 Paige Rd, The Colony, TX. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to SPCOA or a local humane society of your choice.
