Catherine Ann Monk was born on January 8th, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri, but spent her whole life in Dallas, Texas, and, after an eight-year battle with End Stage Renal Disease, moved to Heaven on January 15th, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents William Robert Monk and Lenora Davis Monk, her fiancé Edward Trujillo, and by her fur babies Cassie and Tallie.
Catherine is survived by her siblings Marie Giles, Paul Monk (and his wife Connie), Betsy Monk Weaver (and her husband Wayne), and David Monk. She also had a half-sister, Kimberly Monk Fernandez and numerous nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces of whom she truly ADORED.
A lifelong typesetter and graphic artist, she loved to play cards and video games, watch movies, and eat ethnic foods. She was involved in the Richardson Republican Women, the Purple Hat Club, Landmark, and various multi-level marketing programs we are sure you have been a "party" too. You were just as likely to see her at a polling station helping voters as you were to hear her playing hand bells at Christ Community Church where she spent years volunteering as a Youth Leader.
Anyone who spent time with Catherine was surely infected by her amazing charm and personality. She was over the top, in the best possible way, and we will all miss her.
