Shawneea Sherri Wright was born on July 4, 1975 at St. Luke Women’s Hospital in New York City. She was the third child born to Violet Victoria and James Master Wright. Shawneea accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Heartline Ministries after moving to Dallas, Texas with her mother in 1991. Shawneea attended Dallas ISD schools and graduated. She continued her education at El Centro College where she graduated with her Paralegal Degree. Shawneea’s life, focus, and dream was to become an attorney at law and was one semester away from entering law school. Shawneea was also a part of the honor society. Shawneea’s first love was her family and law were her second love.
In 1999 she married Charles Brown whom she met at the tender age of 13 and he was 14. No children were born out of this union; however, he happily accepted and helped to raise her children Briana and Avery as his own.
In 2012 Shawneea along with her husband became foster parents and together they fostered several children before she became ill.
Shawneea was a go-getter who loved challenges. She always had a plan and a backup plan for the backup plan. She was a woman full of determination and persistence. Shawneea was a strong, positive, and an energetic woman who loved helping people particularly her family. Shawneea was loved by all those who met her. She had a smile and a laughter that was infectious. She loved education and learning new things. She successfully homeschooled her two children who graduated from high school at the age of 16 and are now in college. Shawneea was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved listening to music, reading, watching action movies.
On October 9, 2019 Shawneea transitioned from earth to glory and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband, Charles Brown, children, Briana Wright and Avery Brooks Green, her mother, Violet Victoria Garrett, her siblings, Martin Lucky Wright, Tahesha Sherri Tarrats, Merci Sherrie Wright, and Jazmine Wright, her aunts Muriel Lee Gregg and Carol Lee Garrett, and uncle, Norman Gregg, her nieces and nephews, Tameeka, Latisha, Normisha, and Jeremy Gregg, Earl and Joy Stevens, Isaiah Wright, Victoria, Ikhara, Jewl, and Taylor Tarrats and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
