Scott Presley Obituary

Scott Presley of Richardson Texas, passed away peacefully the day before his 72nd birthday in the arms of his wife.

A good man who made this world a better place, Scott cared about others more than himself. He always saw the best in people and encouraged others to shine. Compassionate yet strong, he touched many lives and found purpose in every minute of his life.

A true Texan, Scott was born in Dallas on October 11, 1947, the son of Horace and Barbara Presley. He graduated from Hillcrest High School and received a degree in industrial engineering at Southern Methodist University.

Scott was married to Annette Dvorchak on March 5, 1983. As one example of his thoughtfulness, he had fresh flowers and a loving card delivered every week to his wife he affectionately called Thelma. It was his way of letting her know how much he cared.

Known for his sense of humor and sense of adventure, he was named “The Claw” by his grandchildren because he would wrap his arms around them for hugs and kisses.

He was an avid golfer, and one of his greatest joys was a hole-in-one on the second green at Prestonwood Country Club. Playing with a group of lifetime friends, “Senior” as he was called, enjoyed an annual Caribbean golf tournament called “The Big Show,” which he proudly won two times. He also loved bass fishing, dove hunting and boating on Lake Texoma. Scott was a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboys and followed them to the end.

In the business world, Scott was a general contractor who built things as solidly as he built personal relationships. After starting at Steele & Associates, he founded Structural Enterprises before practicing his trade at Partners Construction, senior vice president of SpawGlass, vice president of Phoenix Commercial, and TeamBilt LLC, where he was the managing partner.

In addition to his wife Annette, he is survived by his son Christopher (Amy) Ward, granddaughters Arielle and Rhianna, his son Chad (Melody) Presley, grandson Patrick and granddaughter Paige, his daughter Denise Presley, his sister Susan (Loyd) Beeson, and niece Bonnie (Michael) Lindsay.

A Mass celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m. on November 18 at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas, 75248, followed by a reception at 5:30 at Maggiano's, 6001 West Park Blvd., Plano, 75093.

Death does not occur when one's body ceases to exist, but when the last person whose life was touched by them dies.
