George Clift Black, Jr. was born September 20, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to George Clift Black, Sr. and Maude Kerr Black. He passed away on January 6, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. George married Lavon Stacy on May 9, 1980.
George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lavon, and his cousin Betsy Maude Kennedy.
In his early life George attended the Brownsville, Texas schools and the University of Texas where he graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. In 1964 he completed his law degree from the University of Texas and served as Assistant Attorney General for the state of Texas. Later in his career George went into private practice.
George and Lavon enjoyed traveling extensively and often visited South Padre Island and the mountains around Angel Fire, New Mexico. He was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church where he enjoyed his friends from the Legacy Class.
George will be sorely missed, but he will be beautifully remembered.
