Ruben Lee Washington, Senior was born and raised in Texas, Father Pete Washington and Mother Henrietta Washington await him in heaven alongside Ruben's siblings, Velma, Eddie, Joe, and Earl. Living siblings include Jimmy, Bobby Ray, Connie, Bervin, David, Pete Jr, Lisa, James, Phillip, Shunda, Craig, and endless counts of nieces and nephews. Ruben leaves behind a wife Sarah Louise Washington of 45 years and three kids Lakisha Regina Davison, LaTonya Renee Foster, and Ruben Lee Washington Jr. Ruben also leaves behind 22 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids and a host of brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Ruben is known by the name Rooster, but if you ask his wife, his name is BAE. Ruben has always been passionate about his family and making a better life for them and he would give anything to make them happy. Ruben enjoyed working out, cooking his famous fried pancakes, or just sitting with his family shooting the dozens. In the last three years, Ruben worked alongside his daughter at her restaurant in New Hampshire, creating new food items and sharing stories with customers.
Ruben is known to be a hilarious man always making jokes and changing the mood of the room for the better. The stories he could tell would last all day, as long as you agreed with what he had to say. The way he bonded with his kids and grandkids will leave an imprint on their hearts until we are all together again.
Words of inspiration from Ruben:
“Yall know I love you; you know God loves you. Remember just because my body is no longer next to you my spirit is always with you. Lil Ruben take care of your mom and sisters, Nana, make sure you look over your momma. Bae stop that, and Kisha get your momma. I’m going to prepare a place for you.”
