Dennis Eugene Alvarez

Dennis Eugene Alvarez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on March 5, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 84. He was born on December 7, 1939, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dennis had a long and successful career, beginning with his tenure at IBM, where he made significant contributions as a dedicated employee. After retiring from IBM, he transitioned into a role as a tax consultant for H&R Block, where he continued to provide his expertise and guidance to numerous clients.

He had a love of sports - from avid fan of all Iowa collegiate athletics and Wisconsin professional teams, to supporting all his children and grandchildren’s extracurricular endeavors.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally Alvarez. Together, they created a loving home for their children, grandchildren, and great grandchild; Son, Denny Alvarez and daughter in law, Lisa with grandchildren: Brett, Luke, Chad, and Ashley. Son, Chad Alvarez and daughter in law, Tiffany with grandson Austin and spouse Abbey and great grandson, Weston. Grandson Wesley and spouse Taylor. Daughter, Christine Peters and son in law, Matt with grandchildren: Addison, Jake, and Cooper. Son, Andrew Alvarez.

Dennis is also survived by his brothers, Joel Alvarey and Doug Alvarez, and his sister, Anita Strawn. Their bond as siblings was cherished and will be remembered.

Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering care for his family, his strong work ethic, and his commitment to helping others through his profession.
