Retired Sargent First Class Thomas Harold Trull of Wylie, Texas (formerly Leesville, Louisiana) age 66, peacefully went with the Lord on May 10, 2018 surrounded by loved ones while at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, Texas. A veteran of The Vietnam War, SFC Trull passed due to heart complications.
SFC Trull was born on July 3, 1951 in Humboldt, TN to JC and Virginia Trull. In 1971, he joined the Armed Forces and was assigned to the US Army base camp at Fort Campbell, KY. SFC Trull served 20 years in the US Army. During his time in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
SFC Trull married Cuc Dang in Humboldt, TN, after they met during his tour in the Vietnam War. They moved many places during his service but found their home in Leesville, LA. while stationed at Ft. Polk where they resided for 37 years before moving to Wylie, Texas.
SFC Trull was a proud father of 3 daughters and grandfather of 5. He was fun-loving and enjoyed making jokes and others laugh. He was a proud American and was honored to serve his country in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife Cuc Thi Trull, his daughters, Tuyet Michelle Snyder (Kenny Snyder), Tanya Lynn Trull-Forrest (Jared Forrest) and Crystal Lynn Novara; and grandchildren, LCpl Blaze Snyder, Bo Snyder, Kailen Trull, Drake Novara and Laila Novara; his sister Mary Nell Bullock (Vester Bullock), and nephew, Michael Bullock. He is preceded in death by his father, JC Trull, and mother, Virginia Trull.
Viewing will take place at Gateway Funeral Home on May 16th beginning at 11:30AM. Funeral service will begin at 12 PM with the burial immediately following at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15PM.
