Patsy Keyser Obituary

Patsy Wingate Kilpatrick Keyser, who was born on February 10, 1932 in New Bern, North Carolina to Roland Ralph and Beatrice Smith Kilpatrick, died on May 20, 2017 at her home in Frisco Texas.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1955, her Masters of Science degree from Texas Woman's University in 1973 and her PhD from The University of Texas at Dallas in 1989. As a professional nurse, she worked in administration for Baylor University Medical Center and for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas. She was on the faculty of Texas Woman's University College of Nursing for many years and retired as Professor Emeritus in 1998. Dr. Keyser was a member on many professional nursing organizations and honor societies such as the American Nurses Association, the National League of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and others. She was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi's scholar society. She volunteered her time with Suicide and Crisis Intervention, Stephen Ministries and was a founding member and Director of Kid Net Foundation. She was an ordained elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Church and a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian. Patsy had a passion for people and shared her concern, caring, and expertise with many students, colleagues and friends over the years.

Patsy is survived by her spouse of 61 years, Albert Richard Keyser, Jr.; her son Ralph Garner Keyser; her daughter Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Keyser Schroeder and husband Mark Schroeder. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Jane Wilson; sister-in-law Eleanor Elizabeth "Beth" Keyser; brother-in-law William Keyser and wife Karen; nephews Randy Wilson, Kyle Wilson, and Robert "Bobby" Keyser and their families including great nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services to be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road, Dallas Texas. Contributions in lieu of flowers are requested and may be made to:
