Esther Hamilton Obituary

Esther Naomi Hamilton, age 73, died on October 21, 2016, in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Esther is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Hamilton; daughter, Laura Olson of Cedar Park, TX; Jerry Hamilton II, of Seguin, TX; daughter Sue Jordan of Keller, TX; daughter Vickie Rupprecht of Frisco, TX; 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also survived by her siblings Nadine Werner, David Christal, Kenneth Christal, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Juanita Christal; father Archie Christal; brother Bernold Christal; sisters Virginia Runyon, Bonnie Cox and Martha Kidd.
Esther was born on February 10, 1943 in Hannibal, MO to parents Archie and Juanita Christal. After marrying Jerry, they went wherever the Army took them, including Maryland, Germany, England, and Texas. She was a stay-at-home mom, raising four children, until she accepted a secretarial position at Eisenhower Road Baptist Church. She went on to work in several positions, retiring in March 2005 from the 5th Army Protocol office, Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio.
Esther was a true woman of God who passionately pursued a deep relationship with Christ. Her love for His Word was evident to all who spent time with her. She was a prayer warrior and consistently prayed for her family, the Church, and her country. She had a generous spirit, giving of herself, her time, her resources and her talents to those in need. She was most comfortable behind the scenes with her acts of service like mentoring local elementary students, teaching children's church, leading children's choirs, and always taking the time to find the perfect card to send an encouragement for all occasions. She loved deeply!
Everyone will remember her beautiful singing voice. She was so soft spoken yet when she sang, she had such a powerful voice! She sang at many church services, military ceremonies, weddings, and every minute in between.
Her absence will be greatly felt. We miss her smile, her encouraging words, her loving nature, the sound of her voice, and her daily presence in our lives.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, at 2:00 pm at Gateway Church North Ft. Worth Campus. 4209 Basswood Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to Esther's favorite ministry, the Samaritans Purse.
