Charline Murphy Obituary
Charline Murphy, 76, of Mineola, Texas, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born December 13, 1941 in Whitesboro, Texas to the late Jack Matthews and Hazel Louise Taylor. She was predeceased by her parents, her Aunts Pearl and Clara Matthews, Grand-daughter Krystal Carranza and Great-Grandchildren Neveah, Delany, and Aleigha Carranza.
Much of her upbringing took place in Dallas, Texas. Charline, Dan, and their children initially shared a home in Dallas, eventually building a place of their own in Lewisville, Texas where they remained for several decades. Finally, in 2003, Dan and Charline retired in the peaceful town of Mineola, Texas. Charline and Dan spent much of their time relaxing in their beautiful home located on Lake Brenda. Charline adored spending time with her husband in their backyard garden and at the lake fishing. Charline had a love for music and much of her spare time was spent enjoying all things Elvis Presley. As a devoted Elvis fan, she made many trips to Graceland, and had the honor of being the President of the Elvis Presley fan club. Many of her close friendships were developed in the fan club and continued for many years.
Charline worked as a Data Entry Processor and Editor. Later in life she become a homemaker allowing her to spend more time with her children and grand-children. Charline enjoyed spending time with family, with Christmas being her favorite holiday. She had a love of food and cooking and found it most enjoyable when she had her family and friends to share a delicious meal with her.
Charline is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Marvin Dan Murphy, her children James Dean Murphy, Angela Murphy, Veronica Murphy, and Elysia Harshman; Grandchildren Jeremy Coffman, Zachary Coffman, Devan Alexy, Tiffany Petersen, Matthew Petersen, Haley Dennis, Madysen Harshman, and Rylen Harshman; an additional 8 great-grandchildren; her sister Linda Toney, and many other significant family members whom she has touched the lives of.
