On June 11, 2016 Bruce George Mueller passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, Texas from complications of Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy 2. He had fought a brave and valiant fight against this disease. His grit and determination were admired by his wife, friends and physicians.
Bruce was born on January 25, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Mildred and George Mueller. He attended Lutheran schools in Milwaukee and graduated from Lutheran High School in1963. He received an Associate Degree from Milwaukee Institute of Technology. Right after graduation he began a long and successful career in advertising and printing. Highlights of that career included working for the Bloom Agency and Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and loved to travel. He never met an animal or a tree he did not love. He was very proud of traveling to all seven continents with his wife. He loved the woods of Wisconsin and the mountains and rivers of North Carolina. He was a member of the Verandah Health Club for over 30 years and did water therapy at Baylor Rehab for 5 years. Tales of his paper route as a young man and his affection for the Western TV Channel have amused us all. Rumor has it that he will be buried with his best friend, the remote control. Trips to New York and other locations with the nieces and nephews and family members provided special memories and joy to him.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Jo Marie Lilly, his kitten, Mitten, and his beloved brother Craig and his wife, Debbie, of Ocala Florida. His treasured extended family includes Mary Lilly and her sons, Robert and Artice; Bob and Margie Lilly and their children, Elyse Cann, Laura Lilly, Lindsay Griffin, and Lauren Morgan; Barbara and Jim Thomas and their children, Stoney Thomas, Meredith Ellis and Bart Thomas; and Bunny Ridgeway and her children, Barrett Vawter, Brandt Vawter and Gretchen Brandt. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his boyhood friend, Ron Fricke and by his brother in law, Dr. Albert Lilly.
The family would like to thank his devoted care giver, Christine Sherman, his faithful housekeeper, Pearline Allen, his Physical Therapist, Utsav Brahmbatt and his physician team at UTSW. Drs, Barbara Haley, Pradeep Mammen, Jaya Trevedi, Jason Fish, James Daniels and their staffs have been a source of strength and guidance throughout this process. The staff at the Terrace House was a source of invaluable assistance and support.
Bruce's lifetime friends Jim Geiger, and Mike Mueller and Dallas Lillich have always been there to make him laugh and provide encouragement.
